Secure Your KAST Tag Before Your Name is Gone

You do not think about handles until you need one.

Then you see it. Your name is taken. Your brand is gone. Someone else now owns the clean version, and you are left adding extra numbers, extra symbols, or a second choice you never wanted.

KAST Tags work the same way. They are unique. First come, first owned. If you wait, you may lose the exact name people already associate with you.

So the move is simple. Claim your KAST Tag while it is still available, even if you do not plan to use it yet.

What you are claiming

A KAST handle is your payment name inside the app. It replaces copy paste wallet addresses and long bank details with something people can type and remember.

It looks like:

  • $yourname
  • $yourbrand
  • $yourstudio

The key point: handles are unique. No duplicates. No “close enough.” First come, first locked.

Need to update your KAST Tag privacy or limits? Use this guide to manage your settings in the app.

Why you should claim now

Stop impersonators early

If you do not claim your name, someone else can. Then they can look legitimate in search results. Claiming first blocks that path.

Lock your brand name

You may not use it today. Still, claiming now protects your clean name for later.

Keep consistency across platforms

If you use one name on X, Telegram, or Instagram, you want the same name for payments. It reduces confusion and improves trust.

Future-proof launches

If you ever launch a product, open a studio, or start taking public payments, you already own the handle.

Avoid a recovery headache

Once a handle is taken, getting it back becomes difficult. It is easier to claim than to fix.

You can claim a handle and still stay private

Claiming a handle does not make you searchable. You decide.

Go to Menu → Security → Discoverability. Then set what people can use to find you:

  • Name: let people search your profile name, or block it
  • KAST handle: let people search your handle, or block it
  • Email address: let people search your email, or block it
  • Phone number: let people search your number, or block it

Want full privacy? Turn everything off, then tap Confirm. You will not show up in search.

You can still get paid. Share your QR code or your handle directly with the sender.

The rules before you choose

  • Length: 8 to 25 characters
  • Allowed characters: a–z, 0–9, _ - .
  • Limited edits: You can change your handle two times max
  • Uniqueness: First come, permanent once taken

Note: Handles under 8 characters are currently reserved for possible future release.

How to claim your handle

  1. Open the KAST app
  2. Tap Menu
  3. Tap Edit (top right) or your profile avatar
  4. Tap the handle field
  5. Enter an 8+ character handle
  6. Tap Save if available

Once you save it, you own it.

What changes after you claim

After you lock in your handle, you stop sharing long wallet strings. You share one clear name that people can type and remember.

Depending on your discoverability settings, others can find you faster and send money without back and forth. You decide how visible you want to be.

Claiming early also reduces the risk of someone else taking your name and pretending to be you. Once the handle is yours, that door is closed.

Most importantly, you secure a clean brand asset that does not expire. Even if you do not use it today, it stays yours for the long term.

Close with KAST

KAST makes sending and receiving money feel simple. Still, the first step is not a transfer. It is your name.

Claim your handle now, set your Discoverability the way you want, and keep your clean identity locked inside KAST.
