KAST Appoints Claire Wells as Chief Legal Officer
KAST welcomed Claire Wells as Chief Legal Officer to lead its global legal, compliance, and licensing strategy as the company expands into new markets.
Claire Wells has joined KAST as Chief Legal Officer to lead the company’s global legal and compliance strategy.
Her appointment will help KAST enter new markets, launch products responsibly, and serve more customers around the world. She will also oversee regulatory strategy, fundraising support, and licensing as the company continues to expand globally.
Why Now?
Since launching in July 2024, KAST has grown to around 250 full-time employees, 1.4 million users, and approximately $5 billion in annualized transaction volume. As the company expands across North America, Latin America, and the Middle East, strong legal and compliance leadership will support product launches, market entry, and customer trust.
What Claire Will Lead at KAST
As Chief Legal Officer, Claire will oversee global legal operations, compliance and regulatory programs, fundraising support, and licensing strategy and execution.
A major priority will be expanding KAST’s licensing footprint across multiple jurisdictions. That work will help KAST bring products to more markets while meeting local regulatory requirements and maintaining strong standards as the company grows.
Claire brings deep experience building and scaling legal, regulatory, and policy functions across fintech, payments, and digital assets.
Before joining KAST, Claire held senior roles at Kiln, Coinbase, Plaid, and Circle. Claire began her legal career at A&O Shearman and has spent years working across complex, multi-jurisdictional environments while supporting high-growth companies.
