KAST KYC Guide: How Verification Helps Protect Your Account

KYC, or Know Your Customer, is one of the first steps in setting up your KAST account.

It helps confirm that the account belongs to you, protects your money from misuse, and gives you access to more KAST features as your account is verified.

The process is easier when your documents are clear, valid, and match the details you enter in the app.

What KYC Means

KYC means Know Your Customer.

It is a standard verification process used by financial platforms to confirm a user’s identity. For KAST, it helps keep accounts safer, reduce fraud, and meet global compliance requirements.

Depending on your account, region, and activity, verification may include:

  • Personal details
  • Government-issued ID
  • Live photo or liveness check
  • Proof of address
  • Source of funds
  • Additional documents, if needed

KAST only asks for documents needed to complete the required checks.

Why Verification Matters

Verification is not just a requirement. It helps protect your account.

It allows KAST to:

  • Confirm that only you can access and use your account
  • Reduce fraud, fake accounts, and unauthorized activity
  • Keep funds moving through the platform safer
  • Meet AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC requirements
  • Unlock products based on your verified account level

A verified account also helps avoid delays later when you want to send funds, create cards, access USD account features, or use higher-level services.

KAST Verification Levels

KAST uses verification levels to unlock different features.

Level What is usually required What it unlocks
Level 1 Basic details such as name, email, and phone number Basic app access and reduced features
Level 2 Government-issued ID and identity checks Sending, receiving, and KAST cards
Level 3 Proof of address and enhanced checks USD account access, global payouts, and higher compliance coverage

You do not need every level from day one. You can complete the level that matches what you want to use now, then upgrade later.

What You Need Before You Start

Before starting verification, prepare:

  • A valid passport, national ID, or driver’s license
  • Access to your phone camera
  • A current phone number and email address
  • Proof of address, if requested
  • Source of funds documents, if requested

Your information should match across your KAST account and documents. Differences in name spelling, address, or date of birth can delay approval.

How to Upload Your ID Correctly

Use your original physical ID. Photocopies, screenshots, scans, and black-and-white images are not accepted.

Before uploading, check that your ID is:

  • Valid and not expired
  • Clear and readable
  • Fully visible, with all four corners shown
  • Free from glare, shadows, or reflections
  • Not covered by fingers or objects
  • Not cropped, edited, or enhanced

KAST usually accepts:

  • Passport
  • National ID card
  • Driver’s license

Your account name must match your ID. If you entered the wrong name during signup, contact KAST Concierge before trying again.

Proof of Address: What Works

Proof of address confirms where you live.

A valid document must show:

  • Your full name
  • Your residential address
  • Issue date
  • Trusted issuer
  • Date within the last 3 months

Accepted documents include:

Category Examples
Banking and finance Bank statement, credit card statement, mortgage statement
Utilities Electricity, water, internet, gas, or post-paid mobile bill
Government Tax letter, residency certificate, municipal bill, government letter
Housing Signed lease or tenancy agreement, homeowner association bill

Your proof of address does not always need to match the address on your ID. It must match the residential address entered in the KAST app.

Screenshots are not accepted for proof of address. Use a full PDF, scan, or clear photo of the original document.

Source of Funds: What to Submit

Source of funds shows where your money comes from.

KAST may request this to understand account activity, protect the platform from misuse, and meet AML requirements.

Source Documents you can submit
Employment Payslip, employment contract, HR salary letter, bank statement showing salary
Business income Business bank statement, invoices with deposits, tax filings, company registration with revenue proof
Investments Brokerage statement, dividend statement, crypto exchange history
Savings Bank statements showing savings over time, fixed-deposit certificate
Asset sale Sale agreement, payment receipt, lawyer or agent letter
Gift or inheritance Gift letter, bank transfer record, legal inheritance document

Your document should clearly show your name, date, and how the funds were received.

If you use platforms like Wise, Deel, PayPal, or Revolut, you may also need a bank statement showing the original source of the money.

Why KAST May Ask for More Documents

Sometimes one upload is not enough to complete verification.

KAST may ask for more documents if:

  • A file is blurry, cropped, expired, or incomplete
  • Details do not match your account
  • Your source of funds needs more context
  • Your region has extra requirements
  • Account activity requires further checks

This does not always mean there is a problem. In many cases, KAST only needs clearer or more complete information to finish the review.

Common Reasons Documents Are Rejected

Most rejections are easy to fix.

Problem How to fix it
Blurry image Retake the photo in better lighting
Cropped document Show the full page or all ID corners
Expired document Upload a valid document
Name mismatch Use documents with your legal name
Address mismatch Submit proof matching your KAST address
Missing date Use a document with a visible issue date
Screenshot uploaded Submit a full PDF, scan, or original photo
Edited file Upload an unaltered document
Wrong document type Use an accepted ID, proof of address, or source of funds document

Check every detail before resubmitting. Repeated wrong uploads can slow down the review.

How Long Verification Takes

Many checks are completed quickly when the documents are clear and valid.

Review type Usual timing
Automated review Around 10–15 minutes
Manual review Usually 1–3 business days
Extra document review Usually 1–3 business days

Reviews can take longer during high-volume periods, manual checks, technical issues, or when new documents are needed.

KAST will notify you in the app or by email when your status changes.

How to Check Your Status

Verification starts during signup.

If your documents are under review, you may see a banner on your homepage. If action is needed, the app will show what to fix or upload next.

Once your account is approved, the banner disappears and your available features update automatically.

If your status has not changed after 24–48 hours, contact KAST Concierge.

What to Put as Your Residency

Your residency is the country where you legally live, spend most of your time, and can provide proof of address.

It is not always the same as your nationality, birthplace, passport country, travel location, or workplace address.

Choose the country where you currently live and can verify your home address.

Residency matters because it can affect available features, currencies, funding options, and compliance requirements.

If you move to another country, contact KAST Concierge and provide updated proof of address.

If Verification Is Rejected for Compliance Reasons

Some applications may be rejected after compliance review.

Common reasons include:

  • Duplicate accounts
  • Incorrect or incomplete details
  • Invalid or unclear documents
  • Restricted jurisdiction

In some cases, KAST may not be able to share the full reason due to regulatory limits.

If the issue can be fixed, you may be able to reapply with updated documents. Contact KAST Concierge with your registered email or phone number, country of residence, and application date.

How to Avoid Delays

The best way to complete verification smoothly is to submit the right information from the start.

Before uploading, make sure:

  • Your legal name is correct
  • Your ID is valid
  • Your document is clear and uncropped
  • Your address matches the app
  • Your proof of address is dated within the last 3 months
  • Your source of funds explains where your money comes from
  • You respond quickly if KAST asks for more information

KYC helps protect your account, reduce misuse, and unlock the KAST features you need with fewer interruptions.
